hey guys I've been trying to use javascript/jquery for getting an array of name and values of an element. I've used serialize Array function it works fine but, i need more than that please look into the code below.
$(document).ready(function(){
var maps = {};
$("#submitt").click(function(){
var x = $("#details").serializeArray();
// x.push({"name" : "event_id", "value" : 22});
console.log(x);
});
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<form action="" id = "details">
<div class = "general" name = 'GENERAL'>
<input type="checkbox" name ="email">
<input type="checkbox" name ="phone">
<input type="checkbox" name ="push">
</div>
<div class = "general" name = 'MEETING'>
<input type="checkbox" name ="email">
<input type="checkbox" name ="phone">
<input type="checkbox" name ="push">
</div>
</form>
<button type = "submit" id= "submitt">submit</button>
it returns all the inputs without any identification. I need it to be like :
{
GENERAL : {
email : on,
phone : on,
push : on
},
MEETING : {
email : on,
phone : on,
push : on
}
just like a multi-dimensional array in php. Is there any other way to get the required results? please help me out.
just try like bellow code <input type="checkbox" name ="GENERAL[email]">
<form action="" id = "details">
<div class = "general" >
<input type="checkbox" name ="GENERAL[email]">
<input type="checkbox" name ="GENERAL[phone]">
<input type="checkbox" name ="GENERAL[push]">
</div>
<div class = "general" >
<input type="checkbox" name ="MEETING[email]">
<input type="checkbox" name ="MEETING[phone]">
<input type="checkbox" name ="MEETING[push]">
</div>
<button type = "submit" id= "submitt">submit</button>
</form>```
