I'm used to XML requests in JS to communicate with the server after the page is loaded.

I can't figure out how to simulate XML post requests with the 'database' (json for testing) in Next.js.

I can load data, but I also need to update the json file after user inputs. fs.writeFileSync() doesn't seem to work at all outside of the getServerSideProps() function. getServerSideProps() also can't pass objects that can be used once the page is loaded.

I've been stuck on this for hours...
