There are a number of Electron apps, notably Discord and Slack, that use installers with a completely custom UI. None of them use the standard Windows installer wizard provided by the recommended tools such as electron packager, builder, and forge.

Is there a specific tool these apps have in common that allows this smoother installation process? Or are they using completely custom solutions that wouldn't be worthwhile for a small project?
