Is there a function to convert a hex color string with alpha channel into a rgba string?
For e.g. '#CC000000' (Black with 80% transparency) into 'rgba(0,0,0,0.8)'
The following did the trick:
public alphaHexToRgba(alphaHexString) {
const rgb = this.hexToRgb(`#${alphaHexString.substring(3, 9)}`);
const alpha = alphaHexString.substring(1, 3);
const normalize = (val, max, min) => {
return (val - min) / (max - min);
};
const percentage =
Math.round(normalize(parseInt(alpha, 16), 255, 0) * 100) / 100;
const res = [...rgb, percentage];
return `rgba(${res})`;
}
