I'm a ServiceNow developer and trying to use Google Maps API to create a custom map for a client via Javascript. The objective of this map is to use a Map to display the following in layers:

1. Incidents, that is, we want to show the location of incident tickets on a map.
2. Change tickets, same as 1, but for Changes.
3. Multiple layers of Configuration items. One layer would show the locations of large assets. A second layer would show the locations of smaller, related assets. Multiple other layers would then show relationships between different assets by drawing polylines, in this case, hiding and showing layers would allow us to show relationships.

The big question that I want to ask this group: how many layers can Google Maps API handle? Ideally, other than the two levels of CIs, we are wondering if it is possible for multiple layers to handle the multiple levels of CI relationships that we will need to see. We want to visually understand the relationships between CIs so that when we see a problem, it is easy to visually identify the issue simply by "turning on and off" the different relationship "layers" that we have. This leads to the next question, how do we toggle between layers when we click on a marker?

Caveat: we may need as many as 200-500 layers.
