Estoy trabajando en un servidor compartido sin acceso de root. He pasado horas para conseguir que openssl y libffi trabajen con python en el servidor. Lo descubrí una vez, pero luego se rompió porque moví los directorios, así que decidí comenzar de nuevo. Aquí está la documentación que escribí para mí mismo para configurar esto:

¿Hay alguna forma de que pueda acceder a libssl.so.1.1 cuando uso ./configure en python?
