I am developing a Chrome Extension with Manifest V3. I need to open a hidden tab to perform background tasks but so far I have not found a great solution. With FireFox you can open a so called hidden tab using tabs.hide() as docummented here, however on the page it says there is no support for other browsers including Chrome... Are there any workarounds or smart solutions that achieve the same result?
