I have the following which should render my front end

if (process.env.NODE_ENV === 'production') {
  app.use(express.static(path.resolve(__dirname, 'client/build')));

  app.get('*', (req, res) => {
    res.sendFile(path.resolve(__dirname, 'client/build', 'index.html'));
  });
}

I have set the NODE_ENV to production just to double-check that the build/index.html is what's being served, but what is actually rendered when I run npm start is localhost:5000

Why isn't it rendering my front and what have I done wrong, I've spent almost a week trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, any help would be appreciated
