I'm currently trying out AdonisJS and therefore reading a lot of documentation on it.

In the docs regarding authentication it says about the available providers:

lucid uses data models to lookup users.

database queries the database directly to lookup users.

Now, as far as I understand Lucid is just the AdonisJS-ORM that sits on top of the database. So, what is the difference between using either of those two providers? What would be use cases specific to each of them?
