I am trying to write apache conf file**(000-default.conf)**, but an issue is that this file will be used to run app both in localhost and hosted servers. So, the SSL config needs to be on only when the app is running on hosted servers.

I thought to make use of environment variable in .env file and put and If condition like:

if($_ENV(APP_ENV)!="local")

then SSL Engine should be on.

But I can't find a way to get the value of variable set in my .env file of project. Can anyone please help ?
