Sometimes a website like College Board / AP Classroom loads extremely slowly and without clear indication of progress (i.e. spinning logo), so I usually switch to other tabs and check back regularly. I usually have to wait quite a long while for the website to load.

I've heard that Chrome automatically throttles background tabs for efficiency. Would this feature increase the time it took for the website to load fully when it is in the background? If so, is it possible to disable tab throttling on a per-tab basis, or is it only possible to disable or enable tab throttling entirely?
