These will surely not count as work experience, but in my academic training, the area of research has always caught my attention, as well as the area of development applied to particular solutions in different areas of multimedia, especially those aimed at computing.

I learned the research methodologies beyond the mere academic exercise. I learned the basics of how to search for information of all kinds from magazines to articles and books, etc. I learned the exercise of writing texts, citations and consolidation of articles.
