Using the Pinterest API for only my own account - Will I still need to go through the full OAuth Flow?

I am looking for someone who has experience with the Pinterest API. On the Pinterest site it seems to say that you will need to go through the OAuth flow and ask users for permission first, if you want to post on their behalf. Fair enough.

I do not want to post on behalf of any external users, I want to use my app to post pins on my own boards (upload pins etc.).

I am also using the Twitter API and did not need to go through any of those steps that asks external users for permission, as I am just using the Twitter API to tweet from my own account.

Is this the same for Pinterest? I am struggling to understand how things are supposed to work in this case. Or will I just need to implement the full thing and then just go through the flow as if my account was a third party user?
