¿Por qué no hay constructor () en React Native?

Soy nuevo en React native, mientras revisaba los documentos descubrí que en React Native los componentes se escriben sin implementar la función constructor() y los estados se declaran directamente en la clase. Me pregunto por qué es así, a diferencia de los estados que se declaran dentro del constructor como en React.

ejemplo de React Native doc:
