How to stack data using d3?

This might be a stupid question, but I want to create a stacked chart with 3 columns of data.

Stacked Data

Basically, what I want to do is have each column represent one category (I'm creating a SIR model for epidemiology, so one stack would be for the S, one stack would be for the I, and one stack for the R), but I'm struggling with how I can create a stack using d3.

Here's my stab at the code

stackedData = d3.stack()
            .value((d,i)=>d[i])

Any help would be appreciated!
