Electron-react app doesn't see .env file on ubuntu

I have an electron-react-app based on electron-react-boilerplate. I,ve packaged it and tested on win7, win10 and .env files loads correctly and the program got all variables.

When I package for Ubuntu it creates AppImage file and if I put file near the package the program doesn't read it(there are all undefined variables in console log).

Where I should put .env file so the program see it? There is a dotenv-webpack module inside the app, to fill the process.env variable, jfyi
