JsGrid indexOf not working (substring search not working)

So I'm using a JsGrid to display a table from a local json file. I want to implement a search functionality. I figured out how to match a if the search query equals the some item in the data, but I haven't figured out how to do substring matching. I did see everywhere people using indexOf > -1 to achieve that. I tried using that but it didn't work for me.

This is the error I get: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'includes')"
