Compare function for different types with TypeScript generics

I am new to TypeScript.

I want to use a generic compare function, but I don't know if it is possible.

Examples for the types, that are used:

interface BaseElement {
  baseId: string;
}

interface FirstObjectSelect extends BaseElement {
  firstObjectId: string;
  firstObjectIndex: number;
}

interface FirstObject {
  type: "first";
  ref: FirstObjectSelect;
}

interface SecondObjectSelect extends BaseElement {
  secondObjectId: string;
}

interface SecondObject {
  type: "second";
  ref: SecondObjectSelect;
}

And now I want to use a function for both Objects, but they have different ref properties only the baseId exists on both types.

This would be the function for the first object, but obviously it doesn't work for the second object type.

    myObjectsArray.some(
        (obj) =>
