I have a simple requirement - lets say I connect to a site mywebsite.com which has a few links in it like app1.mywebsite.com and app2.mywebsite.com. If the user clicks on those links (which are subdomains of my site), it should go via a proxy of my choice, but NOT configured manually via browser settings. As part of downloading the html and javascripts for mywebsite.com, there should be a javascript file where I can define FindProxyForURL(). So this way I don't have to make the user manually tweak any PAC file settings etc.., and this applies just to my site and its subdomains, so there should be no security risk there ? Is this even possible ?

NOTE: I am NOT asking if I can change the browser wide proxy setting as suggested here Setting proxy in JavaScript.
