Electron - How to get a shell icon from shortcut

I'm relatively new to electron and in the process of writing a file explorer as a way to teach myself the framework, and I'm in the process of adding app icons.

I was wondering if there was a way to consistently get the icon of the app that a shortcut refers to.

isrc = shell.readShortcutLink(`${dir}\\${file}`).icon;

I tried this default method, but it only worked on one icon, and that was Discord. Is there something I have to do after I grab the .icon?
