Unable to get Javascript alert to work on Android browser (Chrome)

I'm just simply using javascript's alert function to have a popup when someone pushes a button so it just says alert("Test");, I confirm via the browser console that alert("Test") shows up my desktop browser (Opera), as well as desktop version of Chrome. I then try it on an iPhone's safari browser, and the alert shows up.

However, when I open up the website on chrome from my android phone and hit it, the alert never shows up. I get a new tab for about:blank, and it instantly closes. If I use Opera on my Android phone, the popup shows up. Since a lot of people are using Chrome for Android I'm trying to figure out what is going on and how to fix it.
