I am building a GraphQL gatewaay with a federated schema. It's referencing a remove schema and I also want to be able to define some typeDefs and resolvers within this gateway.

So far I have something like this:

  // schema,
  gateway
});

As you can see I have tried including my schema in the ApolloServer config options but I get an error Cannot define both 'gateway' and any of: 'modules', 'schema', 'typeDefs', or 'resolvers'.

How can I combine the local schema with remote schema's?
