Trying to open an autocomplete.js popup with full results

i'm actually using autocomplete.js in my project to search in faq questions in a web page. Currently i'm looking to show all result (questions) when the user clicks on an arrow near the search input. Obviously items count is low (under 10 questions) so showing all of them is possible without opening a long window.

I'm trying using .search("") and .open() methods without success, it opens an empy list. How can i do that? i was thinking that search with empty query was the way but it's not working.

thanks
