Milsymbol for 2525D icons erroring on call to .asSVG()

Installed Milsymbol 2.0.0-rc2 as instructed here https://www.npmjs.com/package/milsymbol/v/2.0.0-rc2n

Am using the asCanvas() call to generate symbols and this works fine but there is speculation that Canvas has a memory leak as the browser locks up after 2 hours of running so I am trying to switch over to using the asSVG() format.

Documentation states that I can generate a symbol by passing in the correct parameters and calling .asCanvas or .asSVG()

formattedas per the exmple, my call to canvas works.

var canvasElement = new ms.Symbol("SFG-UCI----D").asCanvas();

formatted as per the example, my call to asSVG() produces an error and the icons do not print on the map.

new ms.Symbol("sfgpewrh--mt", {
    size: 35,
    quantity: 200,
    staffComments: "for reinforcements".toUpperCase(),
    additionalInformation: "added support for JJ".toUpperCase(),
    direction: (750*360/6400),
    type: "machine gun".toUpperCase(),
    dtg: "30140000ZSEP97",
    location: "0900000.0E570306.0N"
}).asSVG();

Assuming I was missing the SVG library, I installed that from here https://www.npmjs.com/package/svg but the call to .asSVG() still results in an error.

Anyone know what part/piece/knowledge I am missing? TIA
