Understand why/how tinyMCE stores <p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p> in the correspondent textarea value

I have a textArea (#tinyTextArea) using tinyMCE and I'm trying to simulate the scenario where this <p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p> can be set into that textArea value just before sending it back to the backend. Seems like this happened in the past and now I get these values stored in the DB... Any ideas what can cause these 2 tags to end up in the textArea value?

I'm using tinyMCE 5.7.1 and the following init options:

height: 320,
content_style: 'html { font-size: 11px }',
plugins: 'print paste importcss code visualblocks visualchars fullscreen image link table charmap hr nonbreaking advlist lists imagetools textpattern noneditable charmap quickbars emoticons',
convert_newlines_to_brs : true,
menubar: 'edit view insert format table',
removed_menuitems: 'formats fontformats',
toolbar: 'formatselect | alignleft aligncenter alignright alignjustify | numlist bullist outdent indent | print fullscreen',
toolbar_mode: 'wrap',
fontsize_formats: "8px 11px 14px 17px 20px",
quickbars_selection_toolbar: 'bold italic underline strikethrough | forecolor backcolor removeformat | fontsizeselect',
quickbars_insert_toolbar: false,
contextmenu: 'link image imagetools table',
elementpath: false,
branding: false,
resize: 'both'

I created a cleanup method that removes that

from the textArea value if it exists but, other than cleaning and fixing it simply, I would like to understand how that could have ended up there...

Thank you
