Puede usar el constructor URLSearchParams para analizar los parámetros de la URL, Object.fromEntries para convertirlo en un objeto (y eliminar las claves duplicadas), luego volver a analizarlo en un objeto URLSearchParams , desde el cual puede llamar a toString() para obtener el resultado:

 let url = "/courses?category=programming&filter=free&filter=free" let [path, params] = url.split("?"); let result = path + '?' + new URLSearchParams(Object.fromEntries(new URLSearchParams(params))).toString() console.log(result)
