element.style.color será lo que especifique la hoja de estilo, rgba(121, 110, 12, 14); , o rgb(... o hsl , #afd544 etc.

¿Cómo puedo convertir element.style.color a algún valor estándar comparable (RGB-triple o cadena hexadecimal, por ejemplo) usando JavaScript?

Puede intentar usar window.getComputedStyle(element).getPropertyValue('color') .

Debería darle la propiedad de color en el formato unificado rgb(r, g, b) .
