Buscar con doble clic

Estoy tratando de activar una búsqueda en un sitio de Mediawiki al hacer doble clic en una palabra, pero no funciona. Esto es lo que se agregó en Common.js.

 document.addEventListener("dblclick", function () { var w = String(window.getSelection()); if (w) browser.runtime.sendMessage(null, { searchFor: w, dblClick: true }); }); function doSearch(word) { if (!word) return; word = word.replace(/[\r\n ]+/g, " ").trim(); if (!word || word.length > 70) return; browser.tabs.create({ "url": "https://lsj.gr/index.php?search=" + encodeURIComponent(word) }); }

No veo que se llame a doSearch. Si lo agrega a su detector de eventos, entonces las cosas podrían funcionar como espera:

 document.addEventListener("dblclick", function () { var w = String(window.getSelection()); if (w){ browser.runtime.sendMessage(null, { searchFor: w, dblClick: true }); doSearch(w) } });

Tal vez intente window.open()

ejemplo de trabajo

 document.addEventListener("dblclick", function () { var w = String(window.getSelection()); if (w){ window.open("https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?search=" + encodeURIComponent(w) ) } });
