How to set cookies for a node js request call

In my application I have cookies available in my node and express side.

const _cookies = JSON.parse(Object.values(req.body)[2]);
console.log("cookies here", _cookies);

Now, Node should use this cookie to make a further api get call to get one of the images embedded inside the web page dom via src url attribute.

var cookiejar = new toughCookie.CookieJar();

But I don't know how to use the same cookie jar here in the below example with get call,

function downloadResource(url, file) {
    let protocol = url.split("://")[0];
    protocol = protocol === "https" ? https : http;
    return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
        protocol.get(encodeURI(url), function(response) {

How can I set the cookies in the jar object ? Or shall I use some other way around? Please guide.
