I was wondering what is the difference between these two ways of using the Node ChildProcess API

Frist

    import {exec} from 'child_process'
    let childProcess = exec(`node test.js`,(error, stdout, stderr) => {
        if (error) {
          console.error(`exec error: ${error}`)
          return
        }
        console.log(stdout)
    })
    childProcess.kill()

second

 import {exec} from 'child_process'
 let childProcess = exec(`node test.js`,(error, stdout, stderr) => {
        if (error) {
          console.error(`exec error: ${error}`)
          return
        }
        console.log(stdout)
    })
 process.kill(childProcess.pid,'SIGTERM')

Please tell me the difference between these two kill methods,thank you.
