If I understand correctly, you can pass a method to child component with props like this :

const TopComponent=()=>{
const [modalShow, setModalShow] = React.useState(false);
const MethodA=()=>{
   setModalShow(false)
}
return (
    <div>
      <Button onClick={MethodA}/>
      <MyVerticallyCenteredModal onClick={MethodA} />
    </div>
  );
};
const MyVerticallyCenteredModal = ({onClick}) => {
  return (
    <div>
      <Button onClick={onClick}/>
    </div>
  );
};
