Javascript data attribute array

I have a data attribute of an input that's an array but it doesn't but when I try and use it it's not an array but a string. I would like to use as an array.

<input id='myId' type="text" title="Search" data-options='["some", "string", "here"]' />

But when I do this

const options = document.getElementById('myId').dataset.options;
    for (i = 0; i < options.length; i++) {
        console.log(options[i]);
    }
<input id="myId" type="text" title="Search" data-options='["some", "string", "here"]' />

Instead of getting some string here I'm getting the letters
