¿Cuál es el mejor tipo de datos para almacenar UUID en PostgreSQL?

Estoy tratando de almacenar UUID en una tabla de publicaciones (publicaciones, redes sociales como si no importara), y me gustaría saber cuál es la forma correcta de almacenar UUID en PostgreSQL . He intentado convertirlos en bytes y almacenarlos en columnas de tipos de datos binarios (16) en MySQL . Pero no puedo encontrar un tipo similar en PostgreSQL , como binary (16), solo encontré bytea . Entonces necesito un tipo de datos que ayude con el tamaño de la columna. ¿Hay algo como bytea var-size?

Use el tipo de datos uuid dedicado. Ni bytes ni bits.
