We were frustrated at how existing Q&A communities treated newcomers; usually people tend to be rude and hostile to new people entering their field. We found that this is a consequence of how those communities were build and run, emphasizing competitivnez above all and having rating systems that encourage poor bahaviors.

We want to build an open community that is friendly to new people and fosters a spirit of collaboration rather than competition.
