Apache EC2 Installing ssl certs

I'm having issues installing SSL certs in my Apache / EC2 server. I have the .crt and .key files but the server keeps throwing ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR. I haven't issued the cert, it was given to me. What I've done so far:

  • Placing the files in /etc/apache2/ssl with 600 permission and root ownership.
  • Configuring the Virtual Host:
SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl/domain.com.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl/domain.com.key

Anything else that must be done? Any ideas?
