Popstate event is not triggering after deploying the application into tomcat server

I'm developing an Angular application which needs to listen for browser back button action. I have implemented it as follows inside my app.component.ts.

export class AppComponent {
  constructor(location: LocationStrategy) {
    location.onPopState(() => {
      alert(window.location);
    });
  }
}

If I run this application through IDE (vscode), everything works fine and alert is shown. But, if I build it into a war file and deploy inside tomcat (Tomcat9), then alert is not displaying (all other functionalities of my application are working fine). It seems like only this popstate event is not fires within tomcat server.

Can someone please help me on this?
