I'm currently trying to make a div with buttons that allow you to move left and right on click.

But at the same time I want the div to retain the smooth scrolling snap scroll provides for divs with overflow x, or y but in this case just x.

example i've tried:

btn_right.addEventListener('click', () => {
 thisElement.scrollLeft += 100;
});

which would normally scroll left 100px but for me on a snap scroll element it wont work.

does anyone know a way to do this?
