Replacement for regex negative lookbehind and lookahead in safari

I'm trying to find matches in a string with this regexp:

new RegExp(`\(?<!\w)${escapedKeyword}\(?!\w)`, 'gi')

I'm escaping the string to match because it can include special characters and simulating a word boundary (\b can messes up with special characters)

The negative lookbehind and lookahead features are not supported in safari which is a blocker for me, Is there a way to implement the same behavior without the negative lookbehind and lookahead?
