Blue Prism - trigger DIV click event

I'm automating modern Web Page with Blue Prism, which doesn't really react for BP native "Click", or "Change" events. Take a look at "button" example below:

<div id="buttonId" class="some-class-name" data-gw-click="fireEvent" role="button" tabindex="0">Edit</div>

This div looks like button, but it doesn't react on "Click" action in Business Object. Is there a way to trigger this Click event (other than Global Mouse click action?) Is it possible to invoke this using JS (are there any guidelines how to do that/best practices)? Basically each object in my app has this "fireEvent" attribute, so I'm thinking it should be doable to trigger it programaticaly, and passing some arguments? Any support on this is appreciated.
