How to trigger touch gesture that's equivalent to onMouseEnter and onMouseDown

Trying to find a solution for adding touch support to a simple letter search game. It uses four events to handle the game functionality for non touch devices (onMouseLeave, onMouseEnter, onMouseDown and onMouseUp). onMouseEnter handler has a console.log in it, with the object that I'm looking to get back and that works perfectly good - when hovering over different rows/columns it brings back different object.

When implementing the similar functionality for touch devices and using onTouchMove (in counter for onMouseEnter) it locks the log on the first object returning only that first letter repeatedly.

There's a codesandbox for it: https://codesandbox.io/s/dawn-sun-fw5c6t?file=/src/index.js

Is there any workaround for it? Has any of you guys had some issues with touch gestures before?
