npm start not working with different hostname

I am setting a different hostname(other than localhost) to my react app, and then doing npm start which is not working.

Attempting to bind to a HOST environment variable: og.local
If this was unintentional, check that you haven't mistakenly set it in your shell.

Invalid options object. Dev Server has been initialized using an options object that does not match the API schema.
 - options.allowedHosts[0] should be a non-empty string.

this is linux system and I have already edited my hosts file to serve this is what i did in package.json file

 "start": "HOST=og.local  react-scripts start",
