I have a android/ ios application which contains a webview. I have added a ajax script which downloads a pdf from my php server.

Like so:

        $.ajax({
            type: 'post',
            url: 'url',
            data: {token: token},
            xhrFields: {
                responseType: 'blob'
            },
            success: function (res) {
                var blob = new Blob([res]);
                var link = document.createElement('a');
                link.href = window.URL.createObjectURL(blob);
                link.target = 'blank';
                link.download = "report.pdf";
                link.click();
            }
        });

this works directly from a browser but from the apps the download does not happene. Ideally I want the link to open up into a new browser window outside the app.

Wondering if anyone can help with this.
