¿Cuál es la diferencia entre declarar (setCount) useState usando una función o afectar directamente la variable de estado?

Ejemplo

 const [count, setCount] = useState(0); return ( <main> <button onClick={() => setCount(count + 1)}> Click me </button> <button onClick={() => setCount(test => test + 1)}> Click me </button> <p>{count}</p> </main> )}

El resultado es el mismo. El número siempre se incrementa en uno cuando se hace clic. Pero no entiendo por qué se usa la función de flecha. Gracias
