Can I limit the number of uploaded images in Quill.js?

I am working on an admin interface in Quill.js. I created the new Quill module in JavaScript:

    let imgUploadContainer = document.querySelector("#img-upload");

    var imgUpload = new Quill(imgUploadContainer, {
        modules: {
            toolbar: [
                ['image'],
            ]
        },
        theme: 'snow',
    });

This is my HTML:

          <div class="form-group preview_img_form_group">
              <label for="a_preview_img">Add preview image</label>
                  <div id="img-upload" class="form-control"></div>
          </div>

When I add an image and then I want to change the added image by clicking again the upload button in the toolbar, the first image is not replaced, but the second image is also added... Is there a way to limit somehow the number of uploaded images in Quill.js? And to change the added image to another one before submitting the form? Thank you for your help.
